A Delectable Selection on the Happy Valley Chinese Menu
At the heart of Happy Valley York is its thoughtfully crafted menu, which brings together both traditional Chinese dishes and flavors adapted for modern tastes. Each dish is prepared with authenticity, ensuring a balance of textures, aromas, and seasonings that elevate the dining experience.
Starters set the stage with deep-fried prawn toast, barbecue spare ribs, and crispy won ton, offering a delightful crunch that pairs well with the restaurant’s rich dipping sauces. For those who enjoy a warm, comforting introduction, the chicken straw mushroom soup is a crowd favorite.
Fans of bold flavors will appreciate the Szechuan selection, featuring stir-fried chicken, beef, and king prawn in spicy bean sauce. These dishes highlight the signature numbing heat of Szechuan peppercorns, perfect for those who enjoy a bit of spice. The sweet and sour specials bring a harmony of tanginess and sweetness, while the chili sauce dishes, such as duck in chili sauce and deep-fried squid in chili sauce, cater to those who prefer an extra fiery kick.
For a nutty and slightly sweet twist, the Gong Bao dishes—featuring Gong Bao chicken, beef, and king prawn with peanuts—offer an explosion of textures and flavors. Meanwhile, the Hoi Sin sauce creations, including deep-fried king prawn and squid in Hoi Sin sauce, introduce a smoky, umami depth to the menu.
Vegetarians are not left behind, with options like vegetarian spring rolls, Chinese straw mushroom soup, and stir-fried vegetables in garlic sauce. Those seeking heartier mains can indulge in stir-fried chicken udon, beef udon, or the Taiwanese satay specialties. And for those looking for something uniquely indulgent, the crunchy beef in sweet chili sauce and roast duck with orange and wine sauce are absolute must-tries.
